Oh the Cleverness of Me
Merek found her shadow yesterday. It was precious...she kept backing up and then running toward the wall making it bigger and smaller and trying to catch it. She never ceases to make me smile. Also, the other night Ryan put her to bed for the first time and he must have the special touch because she was asleep in 6 minutes...even i was impressed. He certainly broke my record. So tomorrow is christmas and everyone is in town and I cant wait for Merek to open all of her presents. So I guess we just want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Years.

The Terrible Two's
Merek has thrown a few little temper tantrums over the past 4-6 months but last night we saw what she is truly capable of. I can basically sum it up in one word: TERROR. It was awful...she screamed and kicked and tried to bite and hit and twisted and squirmed and growled. It was awful. What was that? Your wondering what prompted such an awful, horendous and outrageous tantrum. Well I will tell you, it all started because after she got out of the tub I (being the horrible, mean mother that I am) tried to put her diaper on. Oh yes, I asked for it...what was i thinking? But it didnt stop there...oh no...it got much worse. You know that phrase "things cant get worse they can only get better." Whoever said that obviously did not have a toddler. So, finally, with ryan helping to hold her down we managed to get a diaper on her as well as her pajamas. Then she calmed down and played for a few minutes while I got her room ready to put her to bed. So we made the goodnight rounds to everyone and sweetly blew kisses and then she and I made eye contact...in that moment she realized: "They are going to make me go to bed". And the tantrum started again. After 15 minutes of screaming she finally wore herself out and fell asleep in my arms. WOW what a night. Then today my mother very encouragingly said "Dont worry it will get worse." I almost broke down a cried. Needless to say, we have officially entered .... The Terrible Two's.

Where's ryan?
So the other day ryan was out of town for the evening so merek and i were on our own for bath time and playing. We were sitting on the floor playing with blocks, which pretty much consists of me building a masterpiece and her knocking it down. When all of the sudden she looked up and kindof scanned the room...then she got up and started roaming the house. I assumed she was looking for my mom (Gran) because she LOVES her Gran. But when she found my mom it was obvious that wasnt who she was looking for. So i knelt down and asked her..."what are you looking for?" she gave me a silly grin and then started running up and down the halls saying DA DA DA DA DA. When it finally hit me that she was looking for Ryan. So i picked her up and went and found a picture of Ryan and said "Is this who your looking for?" and she pointed to the picture and squealed with joy. It makes me so happy to know that not only does he adore her but she truly loves and cares for him too. Anyhow i thought it was really cute that she realized he wasnt there and went looking for him. She didnt see him last night either because she was asleep before he got there so they havent seen each other in almost three days...im looking forward to seeing how excited she gets when she does get to see him.

Yogurt and wisdom teeth
So this morning I had all four wisdom teeth removed. It was AWFUL...I am in so much pain. But that aside...my mother, while being a huge help with merek today, still could not keep merek distracted from me for very long. She was so interested in my face (the swelling) and the ice packs. After a few hours i was able to sit up and i was eating some raspberry yogurt (my favorite and one of mereks favorites as well). So while eating my yogurt very slowly and carefully, Merek became aware of what it was that I had, and began demanding me to share. On any other occasion I would have gladly shared with her but being that I had just had mouth surgery I didnt think that was very sanitary or healthy. So my mom went and got her a cup of her own. Oh No...that was Not what she wanted. She wanted mommy's yogurt or no yogurt at all. So in the end i had to eat two cups of yogurt, mine and the the cup she wouldnt eat that my mother had already opened, and she cried and cried for 30 minutes. I think this whole ordeal just has her very confused and every 5 or 10 minutes she came over and patted my leg as if to say " I have no idea whats wrong with you but it will be ok." It was very sweet.
