RSV/Bronchitis

so ryan and i had to take merek to the emergency room thanksgiving day because she had a fever of 101.9 and was shaking all over and wheezing so we got to the ER and they did chest Xrays (have you ever tried to hold a toddler down for Xrays??? Its not easy!) and said she has bronchitis and we shoudl make an appointment with her regular doctor the next day. So this morning I took her to see Dr. Wick her pediatritian and not only does she have bronchitis but she also has RSV. So we started breathing treatments this afternoon and hopefully in the next few days we will see some improvement. I just feel so bad for her... I hate to see her sick. So say a little prayer for her if your thinking about it. Also i hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving!

so this morning merek and i were getting ready to go to the mall with my grandmother to do some christmas shopping and i pulled out my computer to check my email and facebook and like usual merek made a bee line to me and the computer. Well im trying to teach her that she can look but she cant just bang on the keys, well of course she was banging on the keys so i picked her up and set her down away from the computer. We went through this at least 6 times until both of us were very frustrated. well i hadn't been able to get anything acheived anyhow so i started to just put away the computer well merek was not happy about that at all. She very deliberatly grabbed my arm and bit me so hard i bled. I spanked her(even though i didnt want to) but i could not belelive she did that. i guess the terrible two's have started early.

so my god parents and their two daughters were in town from lubbock today and ryan got to meet them because we all went to lunch. But merek looked so cute...she was wearing her blue jean polo jumper with bright red tights and for the first time in months she wore a bow in her hair i was so pleased. everything went so well, and they absolutely LOVED ryan which is perfect. anyhow this was our early thanksgiving.

so everyday while im in class merek goes over to my grandmothers house to play and such in her giant and gorgeous garden. but we just put up a new swing in the gazebo and i wanted to share pictures with you. so this isnt really a long post but after church we went by there to get some pictures.

inner ear infection and virus

So i found out today why merek has been so cranky this past week. you know honestly i feel like a terrible mother for not noticing it quicker but it is so hard right now because she cant just tell me what hurts. Anyhow i took her to see her very favorite Dr. Wick today and despite not having a voice and crying all day she did perfectly fine int he doctors office. But naturally that is the way it works. Your kid is screaming in pain int he parking lot but the minute you get in there they act just fine and your telling the doctor "I promise she doesnt feel good!" haha. But through it all she just had a bad infection in her right ear and a virus that was causing gunk to build up in her throat. So after her first dose of antibiotics tonight she is already seeming back to her normal happy self. I'm glad she is feeling better and we figured out what was wrong i just feel bad for not catching it sooner. I knew something was wrong i just thought she was frustrated because she is trying so hard to talk. Anyhow gotta do some laundry since the princess is sleeping.

the car dealership

So we had to take my car by the dealership service place today because my back lights were out and it wasnt the bulbs and the last thing i need is a ticket or someone running into me. Anyhow i had to take merek with me because my grandma had a appointment and couldnt keep her. She had a field day!!! she was climbing into the show cars and standing on the kids table in the waiting room. i worked up a sweat just trying to chase her around. it was hectic and chaotic to be sure. Well after almost 30 minute of her terrorizing the staff at the kia dealership a little red headed boy and his mother came in. Merek fell in love almost instantly...she hugged him and he gave her a cookie and they played with puzzles and built a little fort out of the chairs in the waiting room. It was too cute for words. So meanwhile, not only did i have to have fuzes in my light replaced but i have to go back tomorrow to have my transmition replaced! (which i most definatly can not afford). So when we had to leave merek just cried and cried big crocodile tears because she had to leave her new friend but i guess i should be thankful because all of that running around made it very easy to put her down for her nap.

A LONG NIGHT!!!

so merek fell and busted open her head yesterday evening and cried off and on for the rest of the night. i felt so bad for her and her head was so swollen so i gave her some motrin which helped her fall a sleep but then at a quarter to two a.m. she woke up screaming...no not just crying...Screaming! so i held her and rocked her but when i looked at the clock again at 3:30 she was still not asleep. Finally i had to cough so bad that i just laid her down and she talked and whimmpered for another 30 minutes before falling asleep. i guess the good thing out of all of this is she slept till almost 8 this morning so i got to catch up a little on my ever needed Z's. Anyway im posting a picture of her head so you can all see how bad it is. i just feel so bad for her! It looked much better this morning though

God...help us make it to church!

Once again merek had a very cranky morning...i dont know if she is just waking up in a bad mood or what but she is so whinny the past few days. At any rate, today is sunday so merek and i began our morning ritual of getting ready (which normally includes her playing with toysin the bathroom with me while i shower and fix my hair) however on this particular moringn merek thought it would be hysterical to play in the toilet...no i dont just mean sticking her hands and slashing in it i literally mean she was playing in the toilet...her whole body!!! so while i stripped her of her soaking pajamas and slightly scolded her while trying not to laugh she discovered that it was pretty funny what she did...therefore i spent the rest of my getting ready time trying to dry my hair and hold her out of the potty at the same time. needless to say i do not look my best today. Even with the intense whinning and potty swimming lessons we have managed to still get ready for church and ryan and i decided to go with my parents this morning...so we will see how merek does in a strange nursery. say a little prayer because were going to church!

1st, 3rd and 5th weekends

It is always the hardest thing to hand merek over to her dad. My heart breaks as she waves goodbye and he puts her in her carseat. "have fun!" i say cheerfully but my true feelings are of anger and distain for this man who is taking my child. If it were not for ryan and prayers for patience i wouldnt make it through these long days. She gets back in 30 minutes though so i should go get ready to welcome her home!

our first blog

so this is our very first blog...i have decided that as a set up to our future blogs i am going to fill you in on merek right now...she is seventeen months, almost two and a half feet tall and 24 pounds. her favorite things include being outdoors and running!!!!! she runs everywhere she goes and she runs fast...there is no catching her. she is literally my whole world and i look forward to keeping you posted on her and her life and it develops!
